The music in Grooves for Odd Times represents a body of work that spans five years. This time period includes: 1) composing music for solo and mixed ensembles; 2) performing with inspiring artists; 3) recording/archiving the process of these creative cells.

RHYTHMIC CYCLES AND INSTRUMENTATION
1. Boulevard - 32 & 12 Beat Cycles - Cajon, three tuned frame drums, two doumbeks, bongos, tambourines, wood, handclaps, string bass, vibraphone.

2. Twenty Three Beats - 23 Beat Cycle (subdivided 5+6+6+6) - Cowbells, claves, conga drums, dun dun, glockenspiel, shakers, cajon.

3. She Walked In 30 (subdivided 7+8+7+8) & 14 Beat Cycles - Three tuned frame drums, cajon, bongos, riq tambourine, cocoon rattles, piano, violin, vibraphone.

4. Seven Tambourines - 14 Beat Cycle (subdivided 7+7) - Kanjira, riq tambourine, drumset, electric bass, violin, voice, piano, electric oud, dotar, didgeridoo.

5. Gong Lab - 9 Beat Cycle - Cymbals, nine gongs, drumset, electric guitar, wood, zils.

6. Odd Reflection - Free time - Performed live on multiple frame drum set, bass drum, hi hat, cymbals, gongs, shakers.

7. Seventeen Eights - 17 Beat Cycle - (subdivided 8+9 - Gongs, dun dun, frame drums, tambourines, talking drum, tabla, bongo, cocoon rattles, drumset.

8. Overture Six - 6 Beat Cycle - Didgeridoo/electronics, voice, two frame drums, cajon, shakers, wood.

9. Mud People - 4 Beat Cycle - Electric bass, electric oud, didgeridoo, frame drum, gourd, tabla, shakers.

10. Ten For You - 10 Beat Cycle (subdivided 3+2+2+3) - Four tuned frame drums, cajon, kanjira, drumset, bamboo, shakers, stringed dotar, cumbus oud, piano, wood, djembe, muted gongs, doumbek.

11. Overture 9 - Beat Cycle (subdivided 2+2+2+3) - Didgeridoo/electronics, voice, two frame drums, singing bowls.
